Rep Power: 0 | I have been open for two months (since late january) and am still waiting for the huge rush of the "busy season", sales have increased since my opening, but nothing like I was expecting. So far I have cross advertised with other businesses in town as well as the local paper, and street fliers. I have great beds, a nice atmosphere and a prime location, my only problem is that I am on a second floor, my competitors are all ground level locations. Any suggestions on how I can increase my foot traffic? Thanks! |

Rep Power: 21 | also maybe try a banner across the front of your suite to direct attention! Keep it up there for a short time and see if that works peoples eyes get used to seeing it there if it is there too long. One question, it must have been **** to get all that equipment up stairs. How did you do it. |

Rep Power: 24 | Riverbrat is right. I have a great response to banners. Inexpensive and are seen daily, better than any newspaper ad. I've got a great graphics group that does all my banners, sign, etc. They have done beautiful things with my Designer Skin logos and I'm getting up to 40% of the cost back in their products. |

Rep Power: 0 | Bringing the beds up here was ****. Basically some bed parts had to be taken apart, that usually would not be, to fit them in the elevator and stairwell. There were 2 delivery guys, and 2 other friends helping out, which was great...but all in all it was grueling work, took the whole day to bring them in and put them together. My sign right now is actually a banner, my town is a real pain when it comes to signage, I am waiting to get approval from a board, but I can see how a enticing banner could be a great help...I just have to get my permanent sign established first! |

Rep Power: 23 | I have tried every avenue of advertising you can think of. The best I results I have had is with www.moneymailer.com Call your local rep, or check out the site. Clients love the coupon deals. I have not done them this year and my clients come in asking for them, will start them back up in july for the slow season. |

Rep Power: 0 | Study direct response marketing. Here is a very basic formula for writing effective ads: Use effective headlines (benefits of your services), write effective ad copy (tell the truth in a compelling way), and measure response (then change the headline or body copy and test against your control, which is your most effective ad, and try to beat it). Being cute in marketing will reduce or elminate response. Only use compelling reasons to come to your salon. These "rules" are not my opinion. It's based upon testing and measuring response of millions of ads and direct mail. Good luck Brian Maroevich |
