Is your state banning under 18 to tan? Are they going to advocate getting your child outside to play a sport during the early fall or late spring to make up for it? Is your child a brainiac and not getting sun? Is your child 14 and extremely book smart and doesn't play sports? Who is making sure they get outside to get the vitamin D they need? I had a mother bring her daughter in since she was 15..... she is now driving herself to visit us and going off on a scholorship to a top school in the country for her WINTER sport (she tanned through her season) and got a academic/athletic scholarship ranked top in the country.
Did her parent make the difference?

Now that's exactly the type of news we need to get out to the public. No "massage" of the message needed. And Don S. said there wasn't a perfect message...

Dr. Ken Mathis is a very good friend of mine. At a lunch meeting, I was on my usual vitamin D rant, and like always, I started betting members of our group that they were vitamin D deficient.

Ken took me up on it. He is the Chairman of Orthopedics at Methodist Hospital (he's big time :)), so he could set up a blood test right after lunch. He was taking a 1200IU supplement each day and thought he'd be fine.

Turns out he was a shockingly low 21 ng/ml. Gut absorption problems. Beyond the fact that he's now a paying customer (I comped his first session and gave him a discount on lotion) he realised the implications for his practice.

Now every one of his patients are screened for Vitamin D ...most are deficient (and are able to tan free at any of our convenient locations).

He is truly a believer and another example of how each of us can contribute to earned media.

Robbie that is awesome. It's sad but so many times when I see health reports from Dermatoligists they sadly look like they are very ill. When I saw Dr. Mathis' report I thought he exuberates the picture of health! By that I mean perfect posture, aleart and happy.

We do share all our articles and studies. He's read every bit of our literature and often sends me studies. He's read all of this correspondence and is loving it.
