Grant for Vitamin D Study

Studying the relationship between vitamin D deficiency and disease in vulnerable populations is the aim of a new $600,000 grant from the National Institutes of Health to the Center of Excellence for Nutritional Genomics.
"Vitamin D deficiency is one of the most serious public health issues facing the U.S. today," said Ray Rodriguez, director of the center and professor of molecular and cell biology at UC Davis.

Thats great. We need this, we need to push that Vitamin D is critical and UV light is the best way the body gets its.

Yeah, but how many consumers read medical journals? This kind of stuff has to get onto 60 minutes and Oprah to have any kind of impact for the industry.

Oprah should be ashamed of herself denying the african americans the knowledge she could help them with when it comes to uv advantages.

she has had dr. oz talk about it but she hasn't targeted the african americans to tell them how important it is for them.... yet they'll have stories how blacks have higher incidences of cancer rates because they don't get the same level of medical care by hospitals.... hmmmm could it be because they are the most difficient in vit d???

ok idea here.. if we got someone , of the NON CUACASION ethnicity.. then,, they can go to Oprah... OMG that would be great.. because i get all enthincities tanning by me... they love it .. sooo... we need to start targeting another market.. so that can make the news...

i agree eclipse as i've posted before i have some african american athletes that tan with us, they love it and i think they're educated about vitamin d benefits.... the anti-tanning coalition can't accuse them of tanning just for vain reasons.
