DERMATOLOGIST wants MY CARD!
So, I take my 14 year old to the dermatologist this morning as she has a quite large area at the back of her neck that is discolored and flat moles. She was born with it, but as she gets older it seems to be spreading. I was worried about it spreading to her face later in life. He figures it is some kind of calcium overload in her spine, gonna send her for more tests...
Then tells her "you no what this means, no sunbathing, staying out in the sun, going to the beach for 8 hours and no tanning salons." I interrupted right then and said excuse me, wait a minute. He said what do you work at a tanning salon? I said no, I own 2 of them. I tell him this was not caused by sun exposure, or overexposure, and she has always worn sunscreen, never burnt, and tans in a tanning bed prior to holidays. Then he says, tanning lamps are very expensive arent they ? ( hmmm.... has he priced them lately, and why) I tell him yes they are, but we are very happy with the doctors that refer there patients to us for ........ and he cuts me off. He tells me he referred patients of his yesterday in the city for excema and other skin conditions, do I have any cards to leave him, he is in our town every Friday. WE chatted for the next few minutes about the positives of UVB and skin conditions. Putting together a package for him now. Talk about change of events. |

Re: DERMATOLOGIST wants MY CARD!
The medical community understands the benefits. If you and your staff are responsible and educated in the side effects and know how to minimize them, they will feel comfortable in referring you to their patients. We need to remember they typically see the results of the worst in this industry. Congrats on a job well done!

Re: DERMATOLOGIST wants MY CARD!
Thank you Brandy.
We do not have a dermatologist IN our town, this guy comes in once a week and sees referalls from our local gp's. His positive comments were about Ultraviolet light and how it aids some skin conditions. The package I have put together for him includes my business cards, credentials, and references to different studies done on commercial tanning bed and skin conditions. What can it hurt. I'm excited have a medical player on our side!! |
