Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't doctors use to suggest frequent mamograms for early breast cancer detection, and then they figured out that radiation from x-rays may cause cancer? If they can be wrong once, they can be wrong again, as they are in the blanket type, general statements they make about tanning and sun exposure. Good luck.

The list of things that doctors had claimed were bad for you and now claim are good just keeps getting bigger. Remember - wine, beer, beef, asprin, eggs, sex, coffee, sweet N low, chicken, pork? How many other things have doctors claimed were bad for you and now claim they are good???

My point is, the broad, fear inducing statements they make are false. Sunlight, and UV are necessary ingredients for the synthesis of certain processes in biological forms. An x-ray every once in a while doesn't cause cancer, and neither does responsible, controlled tanning, indoors or out. The big companies that profit from the misinformation, lies, and hysteria they create about tanning are not going to legitimize anything that jeapordizes their bottom line, even if it is the truth! Sometimes capitalism makes me sick, but it's the best system going. Cheers!
