This story is out of my hometown, Portland, OR. Prostate cancer is far more common than breast cancer....we know we get Vitamin D from sunlight...can we tie these together?

If you have not already done so, Read the book by Dr Hollick "Uv Advantage". This goes in great depth and shows actual research in all the benefits of Vitamin D.

Rep Power: 0 Tans R Us is on a distinguished road
The article is excellent but to the average observer it just looks like another big drug company is on the verge of developing a new cancer drug. To someone that knows a little about vitamin D, the DN-101 pill appears to be a manufactured version of the vitamin D that is natural and free from the sun or UV(B)light. Just like others have pointed out, it's hard to make money off of something that you can get for free but if you can make others believe that you have to buy it you may have a chance. I like there studies where they have two groups of people and one group gets the new "vitamin D" drug in conjunction with the other cancer drug and the other group just gets the cancer drug. I would love to see a third group added to the equation and have that group get the vitamin D from a light source. But what if the third group faired as good as or better than the other groups, who would profit from that? I would be very interested in a study like that. It's not likely to happen for the aforementioned reasons and who in their right mind would expose a dying person to something that has a chance of giving them skin cancer? By the way, one of the possible problems with the "vitamin D" drug is that they have to worry about the doses being toxic. From what I understand, although you get mega amounts of vitamin D from short UV exposure, the body only uses what it needs and you can't overdose from the naturally occurring incident.
