Re: Sunbeds are not associated with melanoma in the U.S.
Not all articles are perfect in our defence, sad. :(
More need to quote the studies, but this forum should be a positive step forward for us. |

Re: Sunbeds are not associated with melanoma in the U.S.
On the American Cancer Society Website: http://ww2.cancer.org/downloads/STT/...4PWSecured.pdf
page 4 of the 2005 (most recent) statistics it shows: Total Cancer Deaths: 570,280 fairly evenly devided with men at 295,280 and women 275,000 Skin Cancer deaths total 10,590 (I thought this would be much higher) with men at 6920 deaths and women at 3670. Within this total is the breakdown of Melanoma deaths at a Total of 7,770, with men at 4910 and women at 2860. The balance of the skin cancer being Other at a total of 2820 with men at 2010 and women at 810. Which gives the total percentage of skin Cancer deaths at .02% The Total of Melanoma Deaths at .01% If anyone can show me a correlation between the use of tanning beds and melanoma, I will be impressed. In fact, if you look at the statistics, and beleived that there was a correlation, then it would mean that men tan more than women, not the 15-18% that our records show.

YEs! unfortunatly shes not the brightest girl.. I'm sure she will have forgotten everything by tomorrow. like one time she forgot her underwear in the room.. lucky for me she came right back in the store before I had a chance to clean the bed, shouting "OMG I FORGOT MY UnderWEAR!! HEHE *red face* "
