Jagger, I have received the following information from Helios Technical Support regarding your original post. Jagger, I received the reply Friday morning to my eMail sent Thursday night, this is the first chance I had to post it. I have edited the responds to condense the reply. Hope this helps.I just installed the Biometric reader. I have a few questions for you. 1- If the fingure print does not work on a client that has already registered it, how can you over ride the system to let them tan? Could it be password protected. 2- Under the "Sales" then "Finger Print Register" How do we set up employees to register prints for password over ride? I can only see that it can be done if you have the master edit, we dont want our employees to have that. You can make a sales code with the type as "Misc" and Tracking Cashier and requiring "Thumbprint" security, and this will allow a cashier to re-register a clients finger print without an audit trail. In addition you can setup a membership named specifically "NFP" and make it valid. (date range and all that) and this will allow clients with no hands or fingerprints to continue tanning without compormise of overall security.3- I can only set up the biometric with sales code that have accumulators, passes, unlimited etc. Why not others like employee tan codes, sharing etc? There is a suggestion for Employee Tans that might be considered. In most salons that I set up and in TTT's salon, employee have a membership type specifically named "EMP" or "EMPLOYEE" that way you can set up thumbprint security and do other cool things with the "membership" option on the Financial tab of the sales code file.4- Why cant it be set up to just a name protection if a clients ask? Sometimes other will tan on their name, they ask for a block out. I know you can put a comment on the screen but now clients see the biometric reader and ask for protection. Again the "NFP" membership will overide the Thumbprint protection in these cases. As for sharing, the whole raison d'etre for the thumbprint was to protect against sharing!5- There is very little instruction with the biometric reader, just setup lessons 1,2,3. When will you have the help and manual set up for Version 9? All new features are documented in the readme file for every version. The manual is included on the CD, we are working on the enhanced Help feature which will also be available online from our Website.6- I have noticed in a friends salon that has version 9 that the client photo has ads of different lotions etc flashing on the screen, mines just has Helios all the time, how do you turn this option on, also he has his own graphics he created. That is correct for the version 9.1.2. In the current version, 9.2.5, that feature is turned off.As for the locking up problems, I think that he should probably upgrade to the 9.2.5 version, because the Manufacturer of the Thumbprint device has given us a new driver version for the thumbprint (v1.1) and that has some more protection against the thumbprint going to sleep. I think though if the thumbprint is defective overall, we would not have a problem replacing it for them, I do believe that they have a one year warranty on them. Andy, let us know if there is anything else we can do for you, though I will be back and forth between here and Indiana the next few weeks so I will try to respond to email as quickly as I can.
