Rep Power: 0 | Maybe Andy can help with this. I have never use smart mail before. There seems to be no instructions for this in version 9. I have not contacted Helios support yet, if the instructions were there it would be easier. Can someone shed some light here? I would want to save it to a zip drive and have someone else do the mailing and printing. I dont want to mess with labels printing out etc. I have over 8500 clients after 2 1/2 years open and would like to target some of those who have not been in for awhile. Plus I have a new tanning salon opening in a gym a mile away. Is this something Tech support should help me with? Thanks for you help. |

Rep Power: 25 | Jagger - honestly I have limited experience with SmartMail.I am going to the Helios Office in Chicago next Thursday for a day of training and review. The parts of Helios that I need to improve my knowledge on to then provide complete training in our Workshops are the following:EFT, Conversion Programs, Some of the advance audit and control reports, and I will add SmartMail to the list.More info here after my visit - it will be a few days after that. I am holding a Workshop in Arlington Heights on Friday and then doing to On-Site conversions on the weekend. |

Rep Power: 0 | Smart Mail is really quite easy. Just open the smart mail wizzard form the top menu and add the options from the left had column to the right. You'll want to concentrate on the "last visit" one. Say you want to target those who haven't been in for at least a year but NOT those from two years ago or longer. Your last visit inputs will be from 7/15/99 to 7/15/00.(If you go into Reports, Management, Smart Mail Detail you can print or look at on- screen the names you extracted to check on the accuracy.) You can easily save the file on a floppy. I take the floppy home and E-mail it to Tan Mailink or Helios' Smart Mail. Call Helios if you want info on that--Mailink's address is www.tanmail.com Hope this helps.[ July 21, 2001: Message edited by: Gene ] |

Rep Power: 0 | You know the old axiom "Know who you're doing business with"? It applies here, too.Question: Would I send a list of my best 2000 clients' names and addresses to my competitor down the street to have them printout and mail cards for me?Answer: I think not.Question: Would I give that same information to a printer?Answer: I think not. What if the printer's best friend or neighbor or brother or sister owns a tanning/styling/day spa?SmartMail sounds good - but is it? |
