Helios is working on Version 10 which should be out later this year. But what are your "gotta have" desires for the new version?My short list?1. A report that brings up sessions by range date across all the rooms (if it's there now I don't see it).2. A reworked Waiting List module that's handy and quick at least as fast as scribbling down your own list. It somehow needs to be referenced from the client profile screen or perhaps at the bottom on the bed usage screen. Two F4s is too far away and removed. 3. A method that automatically links the certificate sold to when it is redeemed so there is a match. Then the whole complicated GC module can be dropped. What are yours?

Hi Gene, thanks for this comments - great idea for a thread.Can you clarify your request - I must be thick - but I am not understanding - Thanks1. The report across rooms - are you referring to a client - if yes, what info in addition to the Client History Display are you wishing.2. I agree that the "Waiting List" function in Helios could use some rework. BUT, when I discuss this with TonyT, I am unable to clearly describe what it should be - MORE info and ideas here would be GREAT.3. The Gift Certificate is recorded in the Gift Certificate file when sold and link to the redeeming client then tendered - Gene, I personally do not see that as complicated (not sure what steps could be eliminated) - maybe I am missing something - can you give more info here related to the way you see it.Thanks again Gene - for starting this thread - hoping for lots of GREAT ideas.

1. I mean a report that gives the number of sessions across the beds. Like how did that new superbed in room 3 do this year compared to last? Or, how many more sessions did I do in June compared to June 2000? The only report that currently deals with sessions is the one that brings up sessions collated by days of the week. This is always misleading because you're comparing these different days but a month conatains four days and other days have five. Apples and oranges.2. I was thinking of a waiting list module that you could reference from the client profile screen. It should be movable and sizable and should remember the settings until you change them. It should bring up the waiting client by clicking on the name. It would be minimized to the tray when not immediatly needed. It should blink when minimized if there is at least one person waiting. 3. Maybe I just don't understand all the set-ups and parameters of the gift certificate module. If it is set up correctly, will Helios let you redeem a gift certificate number that was never sold? That's the bottom line to me.

Gene, on Gift Certificates: you can set the range of Gift Certificates numbers that are tracked by the system and also the range of numbers prior to computerizing which will not be tracked. This is set in View - Preferences - Gift Certificates. Hope this helps.Thanks for the additional info on items # 1 & 2. I will be meeting with TonyT and his team within the next two weeks. It will be a pleasure too add these items to the discussion.Gene, you might also be interested in getting info on the SolarSoft SalonWizard product. SalonNet allows for Data Exchange and Synchronizaton between salons/stores. SalonNet also includes all of the functions available within SalonWizard. This includes a function and report scheduler, remote data entry and maintenance, and applicable to this post, a Custom Report Writer. Here the Salon Owner can write SQL based queries against the Helios Database. I'm so pleased with this software, and I've given it a nice once-over. One of these is probably already there, but I'd like to see the receipt printed in different fonts, and faster. I'm using a Star 200, and maybe I don't know how to configure the receipt to look better. This next one: We've enabled the camera module, and use a Creative Webcam Go, which is USB, and works flawlessly. Thanks, guys!! Still, all of us can have a client in front of us, and still forget to take the photo. I'd like to see a pop up (ONLY if the camera is enabled) telling you to get the picture before you go any further. In the middle of the sale, you can't take it, so I'd like the program to see that you don't have the client's photo, and tell you as soon as their info is displayed. It's a little thing, but I'm anal.Third, I'd like to see a warning on the "user defined" fields. Example: We have a place for their work fax number. I would like to have the ability to prompt for the fax, if I want. Or the email address, like "HEY!!, get their email address!!. You can show a popup for the Helios fields, and it just seems a natural extension of that ability.I'm not complaining. I could run the salon for years with Helios the way it is right now. The program is incredible, and the support staff are awesome, professional, and most importantly, you can get them when you call. Larry doesn't like much, but I can't find anything to complain about.

Larry, I was speaking to Tony about the Receipt Printer just a couple of weeks ago. I believe with you that it is time to provide compatibility to a Thermal Receipt Printer - thus graphics and improved fonts. Do not remove the Star compatibility just add an option. It is time. No you do not have much (any) flexibility with the Star SP200 - just good plain and simple text.Your other suggestions are GREAT. Does not sound to hard, but will need a change in the System Default table to add a field to allow for a prompt if field is blank. Lets throw it to Development (right Scott) and see what can be done.Keep the ideas flowing - anyone else got some input?

I wish you could go into the reports section, daily sales and do multiple days without having to go in and out. As it is now you can do one day and it takes you back out to the main screen. Many times you want to do several days and this is a pain.

First praise is due for all the wonderful things helios is capabale of: I am still wishing for the ability to turn our beds on through our network system. It would really enhance our customer service and efficiency.I would also like the ability to use the help function. I realize we have a tutorial but it is kinda inconvienent.
