Michael:Today after Pat "repaired" Helios 8, she tried to "compact" and the computerlocked up. After rebooting, she was unableto get into Helios 8. We tried to "repair" again and got the same error message."3015-C:\ProgramFilesHelios\Data\Transact.mdb" isn't an index in this table. Look in theIndexes Collection of the Table Def Objectto determine valid index names.Any ideas? Is "restoring" with yeaterday's data thebest bet?(888) 994 - 3828 (toll free).Regards,Don Smith

Don We have had the same problems here and have found that the only compact/repair utility that works in these cases is by using Microsoft software through their ODBC drivers. This software is provided free of charge from Microsoft through their Microsoft Data Access Components or MDAC. Though the ODBC Data Source Administrator you have the ability to set up data sources to your Access DataBases which Helios uses. You would select through the administrator the Microsoft Access Driver and then would be presented a Window setup screen for the ODBC Microsoft Access Setup. On this window is allows your to select the database for this Data Source Name (DSN). Also on this window there are buttons that allow you to Select, Create, Compact or Repair. The Select button will allow you to select the database and the compact/repair buttons will allow you to compact and repair the database you have select. When Compacting a database it will also ask you for a database you wish to compact to. After the compact is finished you can then copy the compacted database back over the corrupted one and that shoudl work. You can also cancel out of this window because there is no need to set up the DSN for any of your needs. If you need help in any way on this call me at 1-888-373-5222ext 110.Mike Lott

Helios has a fix for these database index errors on their website. It works well and you only have to do it once.Chris
