OK - you want to put me to work day ONE.Make SURE you have a backup of Helios before you do the Windows upgrade. If you have Pictures BACK them up. If you use Releases and Contracts in Helios. back them up to - they are in the Helios8 Program Directory. I would go so far as to have a total system backup if that is possible and effective. Make SURE you are upgrading to Windows 98 Second Edition (or better, and in my personal opinion ME is not better).Do this upgrade at a time when you have some recovery time if all does not go according to GATES.If the world gets TOTALLY screwy (has not happen to me yet on a Windows 98SE upgrade - but it could be your day - EXTREME MEASURE COMING HERE - after everything (you need) is backed up. You could do a clean install of Windows, install Helios8 (do not worry about the activation code - you are not going to run Helios8), restore your Helios8 data from backup - install Helios9 from your CD on your Server and Workstation(s), attached the dongle to LPT1 on the Server, set up Crypto Box Server(Read Me file in H9 install) - Convert using Helios9 Utilities - Backup Helios9 data (not on same media as last Helios8 backup) - On the CD in the Utilities directly - run Update Data - Copy MultiUser Setup to the Workstation(s) - Run MultiUser Setup on Workstation(s) and set the appropriate paths point to the server (not Program Directory)Re above - E&OE - please review with Helios Technical Support - above is reference guide ONLY - not responsible for omissions.Re Multi Function Printers - not sure of HPOJ700 - please contact Tech Support for guidance. If all else fails put a second LPT port in system, put Dongle on LPT1 with receipt printer if you have one and put the HPOJ700 on LPT2. If Multi Functions Printers are a problem for the Dongle that may be because of 2 way communications ?? not sure.If you got the CD in the last couple of months from Helios it is likely V9.1.5 or V9.2 in either case you can download the latest update 9.2.5 and go directly to it. If it is before 9.1.5 - I believe you can go directly to 9.2.5 from any release that is 9.0.24 or greater - please confirm this last part with Tech Support if applicable.Hope this helps - you are going to enjoy many of the new features in V9 and V9.2.5Andy Thompson[This message has been edited by Andy @ ATSO.ca (edited 06-07-2001).]
