solaris 442 breaker tripping

I just got a solaris 442 bed and when I plug it in and turn it on, it will run for about 60 seconds then I get a hot smell and then it pops and the breaker trips. this is a used bed and it worked fine the first dozen times we used it. What should I start with to see what's causing it. when it pops you hear it from the main box under the bed that everything hooks into.

Re: solaris 442 breaker tripping

That bed should be on a 40A breaker with about 220-225V running voltage.

If you bought it from a salon, perhaps it came with a transformer (buck booster) that you hooked up but don't need?

Step 1 - check the running voltage to the bed

Step 2 - check the harness connections (that you screwed on to the back of the ballast box underneath) -- make sure they are all on "evenly" --- if it is off a bit it can be arcing electric.

Step 3 - check the main power hookup INSIDE the ballast tray box. Are the wires in the right place and screwed in tightly with a good connection?

I wouldn't run it again until you get this resolved or you are likely to wind up with a fire or a fried computer board that will cost $$

Re: solaris 442 breaker tripping

got it figured out. one of the cannon plugs that go to the lid had came loose and backed out. retightened it up and tested everything again and it works great again. Thanks for the help.
