Help! Sundash 232 flickering

I have a Sundash 232, 10 minute bed that flickers throughout the whole session continuously. we have put in new bulbs, new ballasts, checked power coming into the bed, in the bed and at the breaker box. It still flickers. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Re: Help! Sundash 232 flickering

Define flicker. Flourecsent lamps normally flicker with incoming line voltage cycling 60 times a second. Some people are sensitive to thos and can see it.

Define what kind of flickering you are actually seeing.

Re: Help! Sundash 232 flickering

Its more like a shimmer, like when u first turn flourescent lights on in a cold building. It does it the whole session and anyone can see it. Its NOT a on and off flicker like when u take flourescent bulbs in and out.

Past experience with this has been inferior lamps that fail to meet oem specs, improper mix of gasses/construction etc., 115/125 vac steady with all electrical connections tight would again point to lamps..

Re: Help! Sundash 232 flickering

So it was only two lamps and not the whole bed then?

Re: Help! Sundash 232 flickering

We were told that the ballast had been replaced, but they were not. I found a used bed that I knew worked well and started to replace ballasts and it stopped the flickering in the two bulbs each time, so we just put them all in. Several of the old ballasts were bad. All the lamps were not flickering as I had first thought. I am just happpy the bed is fixed! Now my Suntouch isn't comm with the TMax Manager, we have to start our beds from the Manager. I m trying a new Serial Chip 1st, hope it works! Ahh the joys...thanks everyone for your help
