Rep Power: 0 | AC/electric/Tmax ? Hi everyone. I have just signed the lease on a property for my new salon. Im working now on finding some good quality used beds and booths. I need some advice on what kind of electric id need to support 4 beds and 2 booths. It is a brand new building. I also just purchased a registar and software package from helios. I kno they run with tmax timers but im a little confused on how its installed the cost of installing the timers and where I get them. are the timers seperate? or do they come with the beds? Also There is AC threwout the space. Is there regualtions on AC in tanning salons? |

T Max- depends on beds, SOME ARE T MAX ready, some need seperate Ts AC. atleast 1/2 to 1 ton or more depending on beds. I highly doubt that in a leased space you have any where near what you'll need. |

Rep Power: 30 | Re: AC/electric/Tmax ? The 3.5 tons of hvac you have is only for what the space needs. With tanning beds you need an additional .5 to 3 tons per bed. With just 6 units you're going to need big beds to be profitable. Those 6 beds are going to need 40-80 amps of 3 phase power for each unit. More if all you have is single phase. You'll never make it if all you have are some cheap used base beds and booths. Nothing wrong with used but you need the right used beds. No just whatever is cheapest. Based on your post you really need to consider hiring a consultant before you spend anymore money. |

Rep Power: 17 | Re: AC/electric/Tmax ? You will need more A/C. I have 9 ton and I wish I had more... An HP bed can eat 3 ton by itself. As for electricity, bring in as much as you can. Even with you family as electricians it 'll still be pricey. You'll probably need a new panel. I have a total of 1200 amps coming in to my salon. I have a total of 9 beds... 1 HP, 3 VHR, and the rest are 100 watt beds. The HP eats 180 amps by itself and the VHR's are 150. These are breaker size and not actual draw, but depending on who inspects it you may not be able have more breaker capacity than what the panel is rated for... Back to A/C. You need lots more! That place will be an oven during the summer when the beds are running. You will not be able to cool it. |
