Helios Database merge

I have a Unique question,
We took over a salon, saving it from closing, another salon in the chain closed leaving the owner with just 2, The one that closed is so very close to us that it members still continue to come into our location, Is there anyway to merge the closed location helios database with our database, this would help out by not having to reenter every time a customer comes in. the software is the the last 11 version and has all the last 11 updates. Pleas anyone, you can email me at keith @ tanunited . com with any answers besides posting it here. thank you, thank you, thank you in advance, Keith

Re: Helios Database merge

Though the thought does sound good, I can see a number of reasons not to merge, but still market (contact) those on the other salon's list. Client ID numbers are unique and would have to be renumbered in the merged list.

Are you trying to honor existing sessions/packages/memberships from the closed salon? If so, do the type, name, and qty of accumulators and memberships match up?

It's possible that many are already in the current database and need to be purged. How current in the mailing addresses? Anywhere from 10-30%, or more, addresses are not current after 12 months.

Use an Address Update service such as http://www.melissadata.com/ncoa/ncoa.htm to 'clean up' bad addresses, and update those that use Post Office "Change of Address" in the past 48 months.

Did the closed salon collect e-mail addresses? These can be used to market for free to get them to your location. www.constantcontact.com is an easy tool to use for e-mail marketing.

Always best to get most current information from your staff, rather than rely ob a closed business practice.
