Thumbs down TANTRACK---A BAD NIGHTMARE!!!

I used to think all these people complaining about Nichsoft and Tantrack couldn't be experencing all these problems. I stuck up for this company, but now know why "all the complaints". Let me tell you of my experience with this company in the last two weeks. First, I decided to delete some of my old customers and packages using their internal system delete option. I made absolutlely sure that I had the correct date of any inactives before 1/01/2009 before hitting the delete button. Well, low and behold, I deleted many hundred of my current active customers. It just keeps getting worse. I thought I had good current backup off site (this was my problem), but I didn't. My last backup was 6/16/10. So I had to recreate all my customers files to be current with a months missing data. The Tantrack tech told me that foreign programmer at the company didn't understand the greater than from the lesser than and hense there went my records. He didn't even say sorry for the many hours we spent rebuilding those files. Now on the the next little tidbit of dealing with sales department at Nichsoft. I decided I needed a new computer and remembered that Nichsoft was advertising new IBM computers. I asked the tech about them and was quoted, what I though was a good price. I got the computer, It wasn't an IBM (some no name made in Mexico), and was overcharged $100. Almost $600 for somthing I could have bought at Bestbuy for $350. Now, heres the topper, They don't take returns--ALL SALES FINAL! Now, I understand other peoples frustration with this company.

curious as to why you would delete old clients? i have clients in my computer that havent been in since 99

My cliant base is 99% college and I lose many each year to graduation. I don't need customers, which I will never see again, taken up space in the computer.

but the amount of space they take up is just a tiny file, you can have 10,000 clients in the computer and deleting 5,000 wouldnt even free up 1 gb,,, keep the clients in there

^^^I wish I would have known that 2 weeks ago. Thanks for the info, and I'm not deleteing anything anymore. Now, I have to figure what to do with a crap computer. It's no be better then the one I'm using now, but it does have windows 7.

windows 7 sucks compared to XP professional, i also learned that the hard way

You're full of good information. I'm going to also keep my old computer with windows xp. I'll take the new computer home and replace my home computer which has vista, which sucks. Thanks again.

William is kool, and will try anything anything to keep you satisfied. I decided to install the new computer which I bought from them, and it works really well---fast. Yesterday, I called with a question about getting a printer to work. William, got it working for me, and this was a billable occurance, because it didn't pertain to a Tantrack problem. He said this was one on him, and wouldn't charge me; he could have. Everything seems to be working fine, now.

Well that is odd...I thought William had appointments up to NOV to do installs of the 3.0 so all of us that has paid for the tech support to get the 3.0 couldnt get it without waiting until NOV and having to pay again!!!!!!!!

Don't get me wrong - I love William, he is an awesome person to have helping you...
