lamps wont turn off!!!!

this just happend today one of our stand-up beds a 48 tube sunquest aurora 160w ballast with 225w tubes

its been working fine for 8 months the sudenly today
my wife noticed after the fan had gone off and the session finnished the lamps remain on, cant turn them off unless by the main safty switch at the back of the room. this bed is out of action untill we sort this out any know where to start looking.

we have a freindly electrician but hes not familiar with sunbeds.
is there any ideas i can give to start looking for.

tried resetting the coin box, then putting in a token but time starts fan comes on session finishes fan goes off but lamps still stay on.
regards

a 160w ballast with 225w tubes?

Anyway when you turn the disconnect back on does the bed start right up again or do you have to put a token in?

thanks robert, i enjoy reading your comments,
yeah i know, thats how i got it, and thats how the sunbed warehouse sold it to the guy i bought it from, i gues from what i think i know now, that its only burning at 160w so does this affect life of lamp?

any way no you dont have to put a token in it just lights up with no fan running, its only when you put a token in that the fan comes on.

Re: lamps wont turn off!!!!

The contactor is the square peice with a lot of wire going in and out off. When the unit is turned on the contactor pulls in and makes contact thus allowing power to go through and power on the lamps. Contactors can get stuck and not release. Try tapping it with the backside of a hammer or screw driver. Make sure the power is off.
