Video kiosk

Mystic sells a demo video DVD for their spray booths. I was wondering if anyone has a good idea on how to set this up for customers to watch?

It would be nice if it was some sort of self-serve kiosk or something simple to start the video. Thoughts?

I could use a PC to do it, but I'm looking for something that is push-button start and is a close system that doesn't allow access to the OS in general.

Basically, a decent canned solution . I don't mind installing something like KDE Kiosk or something, but I don't want it to be a lot to manage. I just want it to work.

Re: Video kiosk

We have a 17" lcd tv that has a built in dvd player in our Mystic room. The dvd continually plays on it's own or you can manually start it each time someone new is going to spray.

Re: Video kiosk

I used to have a LCD in there also, but over they years it gets gunked up something firece. I decided to buy a portable 7" screen DVD player that they can sit in the lobby and watch the vid if they choose.

Re: Video kiosk

Thank you for the input! I ultimately decided on an HP DreamScreen. It has 2GB built in memory, so I can copy a decent resolution version of the Mystic demo onto it, and still have room for a few upsell advertisements on the screen saver slideshow. Very slick!

Re: Video kiosk

We set up a Flat screen/DVD in the lobby that plays continuously. It gets walkins for UV's and outside "people waiting in their cars". Excellent advertising tool!
