Thumbs down Re: Tan Track update-Printer problem

Tan Track problems are getting bigger and more often...i actually couldn't tan anyone last night through Tan Tracks and had to shut down and use T-max instead which is embarrasing having to ask my clients how long they went for, which bed they use, etc. and then we found out that one of the clients after they tanned didn't even have any sessions left.

These are huge problems...i paid big money for the software and yearly for support to have a software never work properly. The appointment book never works properly, there are constant clitches with everything but to NOT be able to even use it to tan people that really ****** me off.....what a waste of money and what a major headache and stress....to have to try and deal with this every single day and not have it effect our customer service...but really how many times can you say to a client sorry we're having software problems again, please bare with us.....

Still don't have my printer working.....

Re: Tan Track update-Printer problem

We recently opened another location of our salon. I purchased another copy of TanTrack and a new computer and all the hardware we needed from Nichesoft. It's been over 6 weeks and the receipt printer (Epson) is still not working.

We have Windows 7 and TanTrack said it was Epson's problem and they are contacting them to get it fixed. So for over 6 weeks we have not been able to print any receipts for our customers or for the salon.

It stinks and I'm getting tired of it!!!

Question Re: Tan Track update-Printer problem

As far as the operating system and Tan Track go, we were told by Megan at Nichesoft that version 2 was the way to go (it had less bugs) and that it worked problem free with XP. We had a new computer built and had both operating systems installed on it just so we could have XP for version 2. If it weren't for the Tan Tax issues we never would have been told the truth about the versions and operating systems...or were we?

It is maddening to spend so much money upfront to purchase software, and in our case a dual operating system and find out you were sold a "bill of goods".

Does anyone know of any warranties or anything that would help recoup our costs?

XP and Win7 seem to work fine but we have also seen random issues there as well. XP is the most stable of the OS platforms and its been around the longest. Its also why Microsoft themselves provide options to downgrade to it. Its not limited to us by any means.

That said, if you have a regular serial port instead of a Serial to USB converter for your timers, you will not have that issue and any Windows OS XP or above is fine.

If POSX printers are infact recycled Epson printers, then it is possible that the drivers can be configured to use them depending on the engine inside of the printer itself. Since there doesn't seem to be any sticker on the outside of the POSX printer, it is impossible for us to know which model it "used" to be to configure it for you.

We do not provide technical support (for free) on hardware purchased elsewhere. Thus the setup fee in your case. We do not force you to buy it from us but if you do, we provide technical support on the hardware for the life of the product - even if your software support has expired.

Re: Tan Track update-Printer problem

Everything yall are saying, im having the same problem with! Old printer worked awesome! but as yall already know, with the new software upgrade mine didnt work. Looked endlessly for pos driver for ours but i guess dell doesn't make them anymore. Ok fine, whatever! We knew it was a lil old. So called tantrack to find out what printer we needed. Guess what! They wouldn't tell us the model number we need. So yeah we were FORCED to buy one from them! We couldn't just buy one and hope it would work.... So got the new printer and it works with the software. Hated paying twice the money but they had us between a rock and a hard place. I could sit here and go on and on about all the problems with 3.0 but im sure you can read on here and tantoday.com all of my posts. I am very ****** off and I wanna rip the whole **** thing out and throw it away!!! Cant get my computer to stop shutting down, cant get timer control manager to stay on, loosing power, etc etc etc. But of course its not tantracks fault. No Way! Never! I dont see how they dont put all the pieces together?!?! We NEVER had a problem before. We have xp, we have their new printer! WTF else could it be?

Re: Tan Track update-Printer problem

I found out today that If I didn't buy a receipt printer from you, that apparently you made it impossible for me to install one without paying you $75 !!!Really!... I hope that is not correct, I'm already having to buy a new computer and new printer because of the update.

unfortunately that's correct! I had to buy a new printer because my Dell no longer worked. Called to find out what printer they were selling so I could get one cheaper but they wouldn't tell. So I had to pay 2x more for getting it from tantrack.
