We had a similar problem. Finally traced it back to the back-up power supply that it was plugged in to. The backup power supply was dropping the voltage and causing the router to turn off and on momentarily.

That could be it Steve. I never thought about that being a possibility. I'll change it tomorrow and see if we still get dropped or not.

Is it possible that a cable modem can cause a router to reboot? My router has been rebooting causing the internet connection to fail. When i unplug the wire connected from the router to the modem, the router doesn't reset. Any ideas? I got a new router, and it still happens.This is not any driver issue, just tell me if this is possible, and explain why.
