Rep Power: 0 | Please help: Helios "Date Problem" Hi Everyone, I believe this is my first post. I don't like to bother people when I can research myself the problem and solution , but this time I'm at a loss. Any help would be unspeakably appreciated. I have that horrible "Helios has detected a date problem" on Helios v10, which disables any attempt at making a POS. Like I said, I've done my research on this forum. I'll cut straight to the problem as I know it. AT 4:45pm, my employee logged in our customer in Bed #1 for 20 minutes. When she reiterated the story to me, she told me she accidentally put it in for 2 minutes (the transaction file shows 20, however). Anyway, she said she messed up the minutes and had to void and restart the bed. She remembers voiding it, and then trying to put in the customer again, to which Helios replied she couldn't since they had already tanned that day. This is a common occurrence for us. So she went to one of our "Test" customer files created specifically for situations like this, and put in a free tan under the Test name so that the customer could tan. Right after was when the Date Problem appeared. Now, here's the weird part. I CANNOT find this tan in the Transaction File. I also cannot find it under the Test customer name transaction history. However, if I go to Status (F4), I can see that the last person who tanned in Bed #1 was in fact, the Test customer. But for some reason, Transaction File only shows the actual customer name as the last transaction, the one my employee thought she voided. Also, when I check the stats for the Test customer, it shows their last visit date as today. But nothing appears in their customer history! I'm sure this is the transaction that I'm supposed to somehow adjust to get everything working again, but how can I do it if I can't FiND it? I tried changing the last transaction that's there, of the customer, and I even deleted it, to no avail. (I've also tried the other suggestions, such as changing the computer date a few days back, or a few days forward. Nothing.) So that's my problem. If you're wondering about the employee, I have to (naively?) say I trust her implicitly, and plus another employee was around and witnessed it. I made sure to check the Void reports, and nothing shows as voided, neither the customer tan nor the Test tan. Now if you're wondering why I don't just call Helios Tech Support, I bought this salon a couple of years ago, and was never really informed about Tech Support. Only yesterday did I have to call them for the first time ever, only to find the previous owner canceled it in 2005, and we would have to be transferred to billing before they would help us. THEN we found to our horror something about Helios' policy about paying for all previous months that were never paid for, and on that note we discovered that Helios billing was already closed so they wouldn't be able to help us until tomorrow anyway! So we were left hanging and fearing over a huge bill that frankly I cannot afford. I forgot to ask if Helios can just pay per tech support call, but the tech guy seemed adamant about reinstating monthly support fees. I feel completely helpless, but I will call Helios tomorrow and plead with them for a way to work around this. But if you can provide any assistance in the matter, you would have no idea how appreciative we would be! I will check this forum, but please feel free to email or call me. lovemore22@gmail.com or 310-980-9063. I even tried calling Andy, who (nicely) laughed in my face and said he hadn't dealt with Helios in five years, and had no interest in starting with it again. Thank You, Kim |

Rep Power: 0 | Re: Please help: Helios "Date Problem" Thanks Aimeekat...it is correct. I fiddled with it like others suggested, trying to process transactions the day before, the day after, a year before, an hour before, an hour later--nothing. Date Problem kept popping up at POS. When I couldn't find that last "Test" transaction under Transaction File, I even put the date at 4/22/3000 to see if maybe it was under a different year. I tried searching with the Test profile's specific client number, and still nothing. Like I said, I would've thought my employee was lying or taking drugs if it weren't for the Test tan being right there under the Status of the beds. |

Rep Power: 0 | Re: Please help: Helios "Date Problem" Thanks, Woodlands. I should have posted this last night. Now I'm out of time and I can't wait, so I called up Helios for my options. They agreed to reinstate me without paying back months! I just have to pay for the rest of the year up front. I'm just going to do it and have peace of mind already. And thanks again, Aimeekat. Tried it and it didn't work. Shall I come back and post what the solution was once Tech Support helps me? :) |

Re: Please help: Helios "Date Problem" Also, when you kill a session and go in to set another Helios does tell you the customer has tanned already BUT it gives you a Yes or No choice to continue...if you click no then it stops so you have to choose Yes...I want to proceed despite the fact they tanned already. | |
