Um, Bump!

Anyone not on a service agreement when the 3/08 audit came around? Is there anyway to get around this? I'm canceling and want to make sure I avoid this on 9/09.

Would changing the IP address it's currently pointed to lock them out? Or is it built into the dongle itself? And if so, would a copy of the new version (let's say I got my paws on one) put me back in business?

software and dongle. they're supposed to offer new dongles to legally issued programs, so I read before.

Helios has been a joke for a long time. Don't forget that Helios is owned by the same company that sells ETS beds, Caltan, Designer Skin, Australian Gold, and more. Cut all their products so that they know that their Helios group can't screw you around. I switched to Sunlync about 2 years ago and it was the best move I ever made - it's 1000x better and more powerful than Helios.

Is Scott Bogdan still working there? If so that's unbelievable as he's the biggest ******* in the tanning industry.

If you read the thread on the other forum in full, you would have read that ALL SALONS that purchased Helios software directly from Helios, whether they have active support or have cancelled their support, are ALL eligible for the new dongle upgrade by september.

I think you should re-read that thread across the way.

Scott Bogden said it himself to me on the forum when i questioned it the first time.

I would respectfully ask you to look at the full text of the notice that was sent out and be careful not to create an inaccurate representation of the facts.

Our intention with the software audit is nothing more than to protect our investment as a business. The timing of our newest version did not allow for us to handle the interruption date the way we had intended via a dongle exchange so we extended the current service until October of 2009.

Beginning later this year our customers will have the option to upgrade to the new version or exchange their existing dongle to eliminate the issue entirely. Again, only authorized users of Helios will be afforded this option. If you received your copy of Helios from someone other than us then you do NOT have an authorized version of our software and would not be entitled to any upgrades to our product.

One other point of confusion seems to be with those customers who are not currently on a Software Maintenance Agreement. ALL Helios users who received their software from us are entitled to the update even if they are not on a Maintenance Agreement.

Dear Helios V11 User,
Last year we extended our V11 Software Audit so we could coordinate it with the rollout of our latest release of Helios - Version 12. The Software Audit requires that current V11 software will need to be updated along with the copy protection device (dongle) prior to October 1, 2009 in order to avoid any service interruption. All Helios customers who originally received their Helios V11 software from us are eligible for this update regardless of whether or not they are currently on an active Software Maintenance Agreement (SMA). Those who fall into this category are recognized as an "Authorized User" of our product based on the terms and conditions of our Software License Agreement (SLA).
Any business that is using Helios V11 and did not receive it from Helios is considered an "Unauthorized User" of our product and are in violation of our SLA. These businesses are not eligible for this update and would need to contact our sales department at 888.936.5160 to discuss getting an authorized copy of Helios.
All Authorized Users of V11 need to go to www.gohelios.com/v11update and complete the electronic request form. V11 updates including a new dongle will be sent out within two (2) weeks along with a UPS return shipping label. Customers will have thirty (30) days to return the old dongle with the provided UPS shipping label.
All customers on an active SMA are eligible to request their V12 upgrade at this time as well. Customers requesting the V12 upgrade should allow up to six (6) weeks before receiving their upgrade conversion date. Upgrading to V12 requires additional paperwork to be filled out and the conversion process will need to be scheduled with one of our technicians.

I got that email as well, but we never upgraded to the 11.whatever version is out there now. We Do have that expensive service agreement though. Last time I emailed for help, I never got a response. Hubby wants to cancel it cause we dont ever call them anymore. My dreaded nightmare though is if we switch to another software program, having to re do all the sales codes and scanning the product lines back into the system. I know Helios offers to add so many brands in automatically, but we only care one of those 8 they offer to load. Ugh.

I ordered the new dongle 3 weeks ago from the online site.
Input credit card info got the print off but never received anything.
They have not charged my card yet either, are they that busy?

me too....did it the first day that email came out. Still waiting. i thought it was cuz i am Canadian and i get last dibs.....you know, the standard way of how Canadians are treated in the tanning industry.
