Quickbooks Pro 2008

I purchased Quickbooks Pro 2008 last week. I installed it and set up the company file.
I opened it last night b/c I wanted to try to enter invoices. It is asking me for a password. I was never prompted to set it up with one. So there is not one.
I have tried the password reset and removal tools. They did not work. I had support remotely access my computer to try and fix it. It did not work.
Should I maybe uninstall the program and try reinstalling it- or return the program?

Re: Quickbooks Pro 2008

sounds good to me. What you'll look for is during the uninstallation you'll get questions like SAVE/REMORE THE PROFILE or equiv. It may or may not come up.

Re: Quickbooks Pro 2008

that's odd all you should've needed to do was click "cancel" and leave the pw blank.
did you have a previous older version of quickbooks installed before?

No, never had the program before. One of the error messages is saying that my computer software may not have installed properly. The other says something about an older version. I cant remember what exactly it says.

Re: Quickbooks Pro 2008

You could try a re-install but it looks like you might have to remove it completely. Make sure you don't have a back-up of what you've created in a default location that it is going to try to open that when you do a re-install. You might want to do a search for *.qbw, *.qba and remove them as well or save them to a thumb drive,CD, or external drive.
