software
I currently use SunEase software. I am going to need to switch to something that has a fully integrated EFT in place, can be networked and user friendly. Sunlync has software that can be networked, but they dont have demo disks.
Any suggestions on SunLync or others. I was not crazy over Helios (It's been a couple yrs though) |

Re: software
I did not find it to be very user friendly. I did speak with a sales rep just today though. She said that she will send me the new version 12 after the trade show. It is still up for discussion....maybe a tutorial would help.

it is VERY easy to use if you set it up correctly....it is definately more complex then sun ease but it does so much more....you will LOVE the integrated EFT. They do free training in indy....what city are you in? |

Re: software
I found Helios was a little intimidating at first. Since I've become familiar with it I really haven't had any problems adding new beds, new sales codes... Training the employees on all the differents sales codes to use is now the toughest part. It has a lot of nice features that make running a salon very convenient.

Re: software
Helios has been a major pain in my behind. Besides entering items in 4 different windows, their customer service and tech support has been sadly lacking. I'm going to be trying Tan Track at the salon I'm closing on at the end of the month. I'm keeping my fingers crossed it's better. If not, I'll find some programmer friends to build something for me :)
IME, I'm not at all comfortable recommending Helios. 2cents |

Re: software
I am local just outside Indianapolis. Yes, very easy for me. I also spoke to Sunlync today. The sales rep was real nice and we went through a tutorial over the phone. It seems pretty good. You can even choose your own EFT provider with SunLync. I like making the decisions. I understand that Helios and SalonTouch mandate what EFT providers you get to use. This makes no sense to me.

Re: software
DB
I would setup an appointment and go talk to them in Indy for a personal demo. You will be glad you did.....as far as the credit card processing goes it makes total sense if you understand all the facts. Helios uses an enterprize server program to talk to credit card companies, Sunlync uses the PC version made by the same company. Sunlync uses this product because it was much easier for them to implement. You have to buy PC Charge, install it, update it and continue to do so. The biggest advantage of what Helios uses is that they obtained a VERY LOW rate for everyone that uses Helios. Sunlync lost this ability becasue everyone can go anywhere they want! So someone like you will pay a much higher rate then with Helios. I was the one the worked out the deal so i know for a fact you wont beat their rate. Why do you care who does your processing? You want to go direct to the processor not to a middle man like a small bank or an ISO. They just mark it up! You can take advantage of your location too and go as often as you like for free training! Thats a biggie! |

Re: software
One advantage I have is that I already own and use PC Charge software. We use this for our monthly EFT's. There is a lot that PC Charge cant do- reports; alphabetize; etc. I would not say that I like the setup we have now, but it works.
I dont really care who my processor is, I just want the rates to be competitive. Hum, I will have to look at my current rates. I do plan on looking at the new Helios 12 before I make any decisions. Thanks! |
