Helios 9 problem

We started the computer this morning, and when opening the Helios software, it tries to start is Demo mode, but get the following error:
"you do not have the correct hardware key to operate in demo mode".
It was working fine last night. Now we are unable to use the software at all. The T-Max Manager is working in stand-lone mode so we are able to get people into the beds, but unable to run Helios...
Someone please help!!!

Re: Helios 9 problem

I assume you have turned off the computer and checked to make sure the hardware key is plugged in? If I recall, 9 also had a software setting for the key?

BTW, version 9 is pretty dang old. I take it you have no support agreement?

Re: Helios 9 problem

check the 'dongle' plugged into the back of the computer.

v9 uses a parallel type plug if I remember correctly.

reboot computer complete.

Re: Helios 9 problem

we do not have support agreement. I will doublecheck the key being plugged in, but as far as I can tell, it is...

I run 9.4 and it does that every once and a while. Just close the software and open it back up again. Sometimes during booting, it does not see the dongle.

9.4 is rock solid!!! I have never seen so many problems with a software as with all the newer versions.

Re: Helios 9 problem

Its pretty pathetic that so many people are using a software program as old as V9 to handle the MOST important business function in their business! That software is over 7 years old! At what point would you upgrade? When its too late? When they no longer have a conversion? Cut a deal with Helios now and stay on support! If $50 bucks a month is a rediculous fee then anything you charge for indoor tanning is too! You sell light! How rediculous is that people pay for it!

If your on v9 then you dont have integrated credit cards and integrated EFT's. That alone is worth $50 a month! Health clubs pay much more for that! They understand the value!

If your software is 7 years old then how backwards is everything else?????

You call yourself a salon owner? I find that hard to believe.
Maybe I can educate you on what I actually sell at our salon if you so in the DARK yourself there. ;)
