I had the same problem,It was a virus,it completely corrupted windows.I was still able to operate Helios through the windows task manager, but I was unable to access any windows files or software. It was acting funny for about 2 weeks and then all the sudden.kablam!

I had to dump everything on the hard drive and re-install XP and all additional software.

The computer geek that repaired my PC said the same thing, but insisted it was some kind of virus or malware. My anti virus did not detect anything either.

Re: Help windows did not start correctly???

It probably wasn't a virus. Errors like that usually are a result of hardware failure or glitch. Maybe a power surge or something. If the hard drive isn't making funny grinding noises then you shouldn't have to do ahything.

System restore? Why did you want to do that?

Re: Help windows did not start correctly???

forgetabout that. It was a fluke. System restore is only for extreme cases only. You will be fine.

you might want to get system restore turned back on ;)
if you need any help i can walk you through it.
i actually did some vista updates and with a sony laptop you lose your sound after the first service pack and you need to go update your bios to get it back.... makes me feel bad for all the people that take those issues to geek companies and get ripped off.

Iam running Helios on XP pro , is any one using VISTA yet any problems. XP will no longer be available afer the end of the month.
