Helios & Fingerprint Sanners

I currently have 2 fingerprint scanners in my store. They have
worked pretty good until the last few weeks. I really dont want
to pay $300 for each one when they are for sale for a $100.
My question is, if I dont purchase them from Helios will they still
function properly once I plug them in?? The software is already
in the computer, I just need a new scanner! Thanks for your help.

And what does that have to do with fingerprint scanners? ;)

I wish I could help you with the scanners. As far as I know there are two brands that work with Helios. The "Helios" one and DigitalPersonna.

Helios uses DigitalPersonna, but I dont think fingerprint scanners can cut holes in the roof for you Sun Kiss. :)

Helios buys them for $70, inserts a code to 'lock' them, and then requires you to pay $300 to get one that is works with Helios. Their policy of raping clients on many items like this makes them the most expensive software in the industry, and all you get in return is a very sub-par system to run your business. No intelligent business person who researches properly would select Helios to run their business.

How have you been cleaning the fp scanners? I've been using tape but it's not as clean as I'd like it.

Yes, I am saying I was not an intelligent business person and I did not research properly when I decided to use Helios. Also, at the time, there were not as many other options as their are now. At least I learned and moved on to a real program.
