T-Max Pro when computer is down

Ok, I set up the salon computer with TanTracks and hook it upto the Tmax Pro. Was expecting the run into problems but it was really easy. I had to readdress the t-max and it works perfect. My question is what do I do if the computer is down for some reason. I've read I can simply unhook the serial cable and run directly from the t-max manager like I did before setting it up to TanTracks. To test it, I disconnected the serial cable and tried to set the time. It wouldn't take the time though. Select the bed, plug in the time, then hit enter and it just beeps once but doesn't accept a time. I then plugged the cable back in and it was fine through tantracks. Is there something to do to allow the time to be set again without the computer?
