There's also a new version coming out this year with unlimited accumulators and bed types, called helios "Green"

How would the program stop working? They would have to come to your salon and delete the program. It is not dependant on the internet to run.

Usually with an update they tell you what they updated or fixed.

I think it has a built-in expiration. I also think they planned on having 12 out sooner, before 11 "expired" to force people to pay the support fees.

Basically if you were someone who was sick and tired of the crappy support and bad software and cancelled you agreement, you would have been screwed! Im STILL waiting for a call back, going on a week pretty soon.... lol

The dongle or the software is probably coded with a kill date. Lets say March 28th time frame? More than likely this update will flash the dongle or update the software with a future kill date.

Helios has always told their customers that the program will continue to run without the maintance agreement. Something smells fishy.

Ya, see! That was sorta my point. I do pay, so I no care. But boy, imagine all the salons out there that dont get the e-mail or know whats going on about this "fix" to prevent it from shutting down?

I have yet to get the e-mail about the update. If it were not for this thread, I would have never know and probably never updated.

It will continue to run as long as the program is licensed to YOU and if it is you just need to download the update! You do not have to on a support agreement or pay anything. If you bought the program from someone and did not have the license transferred then it will not work.

I bet this expiration was installed during updates and not in the original build. Could also be a trick to get you to install this update and inherit the exiration date.

Why not just wait until the expiration date arrives to see if it really quits working. If you have done no recent updaes or any at all then I bet it will just keep chugging along but if you panic and get this latest download then you are falling into the trap and screwing yourselves.

Better learn how to reset the clock every day.
