Re: youtube

hehe... true.

Like I said I used Macs for a LONG time. Then I was the system admin for a small dial-up ISP (anyone remember dial-up!). Anyway, I told myslef they (PCs) may not be all that bad now that I HAD to work with them. After a couple years I realized I was not wrong and the stories I hear were true.

Keep in mind that was Windows 95/98 days. A lot has changed and they have gotten much better but after using both for many years I decided to switch to da Mac daddy.

Speaking of vacation, I was suppose to go to Isals Mujares next week.... but too busy, sometimes it just sucks being a small business owner! grrrrrr

Re: youtube

Yay! I won! LOL Im kidding.

I think the problme is I always look at the big picture actually. I always look for the end result and the most efficient way to do things. I found that Windows machines are too inefficient in too many areas for me to be productive. I spend way too much time in front of a computer to worry about viruses or making sure my software is up to date or even wondering if the "drivers" I have will still work after an update. I bought a computer for work and play, not for a new "maintinece hobby" - for that I have my car! lol

Re: youtube

OMG let me out of this conversation!!! ROFLMAO I can't believe you are computer literate yet you worry about viruses. I NEVER worry about viruses. I know what I'm doing, I don't open emails or files from idiots or install third party software. I get my security patches just like macs do and I have free virus software that updates and runs on it's own (just in case someone that doesn't know what they're doing uses my laptop). I register it ONCE year with my name and address for avast. These are not reasons for a geek to not use a PC......now if you want to use a mac just because you're a mac geek well OK. If it's not running the aps you need then I might understand as well. As far as hardware not lasting I don't keep my main computer more then one year ever because I always have to have NEW....but I can still boot up and run the tandy sensation with a 9600 baud modem and the first svga monitor released....oh I have the first black and white connectix webcam with cornell beta still on it! I know my bad! LOL

Re: youtube

But I am NOT worried about viruses! LOL I think thats what got this going :) hehe

Anyway, the truth is the number of PC users like you versus the rest is so small. You know what you are doing, most dont. Most pay once for anti-whatever software when they get their new PC and thats is, they never bother to re-new.

Remember when you used to HAVE to learn how to use a PC or even a Mac. To use a computer was almost a privilege. You sorta had to know what you where doing. Now days the power of computing is for anyone, but not everyone knows what they are doing.

The best analogy I can think of is with cars. Long ago when the first automobiles came out the owner knew what they were doing. They knew how to operate it. They knew it needed oil and how to check it and they new it needed new tires every now and then. Later on as car became more plentiful and available you ended up with housewives that only drove it. They did not know how to fill it with gas (like my grandma) and when they over-heated them they figured "they could still make it home".

I am sure that in 20 years or more the generation off n00bs will be educated enough to get by or computers will be idiot proof enough to be safe in anyones hands.

By the way, I still have a Lisa - if you know what that is and an original Atari! lol
