helios wait status

im just actually getting around to setting up my tmax manager to helios and im noticing that when a bed is already in use and another client comes in to use it u cant finish their transaction.

shouldnt they automatically get put in the wait status.

i called tech support and he said no. u need to put them in the computer after the bed is cleaned.

but that suxs cause when the client comes up to pay for the visit the computer automatically prompts for the session info.

the way tech wants me to do it is have the client come back to the desk asfter the bed is cleaned then pay and do the computer info

does this make sense. THIS WOULD SLOW DOWN MY SALON! i currently use a appointment book to keep track of who is next and use helios to track sessions and other data but we manually start tmax.

HELP I WANT TO GET OUT OF MY SALON AND FEEL SECURE!!! RIGHT NOW MY EMPLOYEES COULD STEAL A VISIT....

Re: helios wait status

As far as I know, Helios does NOT have true wait status - as you found out. The "wait" screen was SOOOOO inefficient we stopped using it.

Instead we do paper. I am sure that like you we have a printed out wait sheet. Customer number, name, session time, session type (tsp, wail-in, month, etc.) and if there is cash involved, the ammount. The very first box is a "done" check box, as in they are off tanning. The last is a "paid" box if cash is involved.

Essentially is a glorified piece of scratch paper.

With this "system" we have there is no way to cheat since Helios is all that can control the t-max, as long as you have a security code.

**** edited

But back to Helios. Now you see why I call it the best of the worst? Its outdated and poorly designed - YEARS behind any other POS system out there, but for tanning we have few good choices.

Re: helios wait status

so unity u actually wait till the person is entering the room to set the session time. does this slow u down at all?

im just picturing a client coming to the desk ready to pay. then sitting for 10 minutes waiting then coming back to the desk to finish the transaction alot of wasted time.

Re: helios wait status

I've always done it that way, CTM. I tell them we can't take their money until we've cleaned the bed.

We manually add them to the wait list, if there is more than one person waiting.

It's never really been a problem. Our customers have never questioned it.

One more thing... don't you have to wait to set the session time anyway? You can't enter the session time for them if someone is actually still using the bed, can you? I've never used just the Tmax by itself, so I didn't know you could do that.

Re: helios wait status

just suxs cause ill have to get all them used to it plus me and the staff.

i just want helios to actually power the beds from now on. my employees could easily do a free session but they dont. i check lamp hours thru the tmax to assure this plus have cameras. but im just sick of doing it and i will be hiring another employee soon

your correct, but we can get the computer stuff finished. then we manually set the tmax when the rooms ready. my customers and employees are trained to do the transaction when the client walks in and comes to the desk.

just seems to be a pain. like if someone comes in and wants a lotion and a upgrade. im going to have to sell the lotion have them wait for the bed then pay for the upgrade visit. what if thats credit thats BS.

AM I OVER THINKING THIS~
