Gift certificate setup in sunease

How do I setup gift certificates for someone that wants to buy a certificate for someone else in sunease?

if u figure it out let me know. i've been with sunease for 4 years and still can't figure it out. we usually just sell it under one of our names and track it with reports run off the credit card machine.

We sell them under Miscellanous. Log it on the GC sheet. Mark it off when comes in and ring it up under GC as payment instead of cash, etc... when redeemed. Take off reports for accurate records of income.

You can sell them as Prepaid $ as well, I just haven't started this yet. I am also looking for another way when I get some spare time.

i had sunease before .. i set up adummy client ..walk in sales... used that for all walk in sales obviously

yea, we have a client named Gift Cards and we sell all of them to him/her and track it that way and when the client comes in with the card we put it in as prepaid. it works

Prepayment is used to collect money for future use, such a extra tanning charges or gift certificates.
To record a Prepayment to a clients In-House Account, select Account then Prepayment from the sales menu or select the Prepayment icon from the tool bar.
Enter the amount of the prepayment then select Ok. Total the sale to record how the money is actually collected.


if someone comes in to purchase a gift card for joe someone you put in the gift certifiacte customers name joe someone and any other info you need .... click sale window will open at top there will be a pre payment box click on it a box will open and you enter the amount click ok. then total and complete the sale when joe someone comes in type in there name and it will show up as a prepayment balance. when joe someone comes in you make a sale on the package they want. when you total the sale a box will come up click on prepaid it will show you the amountclick ok complete the sale

if they dont want to tell you who it is then that is different sale it under there account and and when they come in you have to go under purchasers account

or you could always put a 10 digit number on the gift card and use that as a customer number till the customer comes in and you can change it to customer name and that way copies cant be made

you are correct. I just have a problem with my partner,, doing what i say.

Some clients do not want to show the dollar amount on the gift, but for accounting practices it is better for me, the bookkeeper.

I just started make all gc's in dollar amount so it can be keyed in another way. Just wait, the *****in is coming... LOL

We have been using Sunease since 2002. We sell gift certificates just as if the person receiving the gc was here. Sell it under the customer receiving the GC. When the purchase is made the tanning package GC or $$ (prepaid) GC is in the account. You never have to transfer the sale. Do not sell it under the person buying the package. Works Great. We also give them a paper Gift Certificate for them to hand out as the gift. When the GC comes in we just file it.

and what if someone is buying a gift card for someone who doesn't tan at the salon yet????

We make a new screen in the tanning & sales window, with the new customer's name, at the time of the sale. When the person with the GC comes in we have them fill out our tanning form. We than fill in the rest of the information in Sunease. We do not sell Gift Cards.
