email marketing in tantrack

I am trying to send out a mass email to my client base in tantrack. I have read the help file, it tells me whatever file I have to send has to be a *.txt doc or an html document. I have created 2 files now , one in word and one in notebook. However, when I open up my window in tantrack to locate the file to send, neither of these files come up. Not sure what I am doing wrong.

ok, well i called tech support, cause i got the file part figured out.... but everytime i tried to send it told me it was "fetching email addresses" with an hour glass on the screen, wouldnt let me go to any other screen. I called tantrack who told me i had input a wrong email address, so they took my customer data base, looked at it, did some stuff then gave it back. Still doesnt work, freezes my entire pc, cant do anything, program says not responding. Tantrack claims its a problem with my pc. I doubt it. What good is the program if I cant mass email? Not happy with tech support lately I must admit. Seems every issue is a problem on our end that they cant fix.

Is there anyway I can pull my customers email addresses from tantrack and put it into my outlook express???

When you have Norton installed on the computer along with other program's that are slowing down your processor it will effect your speed of sending e-mail's to customers.

Example
When you send a test message count the seconds that it takes for Norton to scan the email before it sends.
(Aproxx. 6 seconds)

Then you have a database of over 400 Email address's.

6 seconds to send a test email

6 seconds Times 400 = 2400 seconds
2400 seconds / 60 seconds = 40 min

That’s 40min to process 400 Email requests.

If you clean up the computer and tell Norton not to scan your outgoing email's your send time will be cut dramatically down.

Same database on a computer with Windows & Tantrack (no additional software) =
.03 seconds to send each email
.03 Times 400 = 12sec
That's less than a min to process all 400 email addresses

You can def. Use outlook to send your email's but it's going to show all the address's of all your customers on the same "To:" line.

TanTrack send's individual email's to each person cause if you have a mass amount of email address's in the "To:" line your message will get marked as spam.

Email marketing should always be done outside of normal busniess hours due to the fact that it might take a few to send to each person. Click send and walk away for a min or two.

thank you, i will disable norton and try to do it again. No other programs running at the same time either. completely understand your figures, except we are dealing with over 4000 clients, so I see where the problems are coming in. Will let you no what happens.

ok so that didnt work either. I shut down every program running except tantrack. Disable symantic anti virus. As soon as I press start sending, then go to my windows task manager it tells me tantrack is not responding. I even tried to make a smaller customer database by only trying to send to customer who expired in a one month period, and still get the same thing.... tantrack says "fetching email address" then get stuck in that mode and freezes tantrack. Frustrating. How do I pull my customer email addresses into outlook, without having to enter them one at a time. If I put them under BCC instead of CC, it will not reveal their email addresses.

After disableing all that you disabled how long does it take to send the test email from the system tools?

On the customer screen, go to Reports ---> Customer List ---> email addresses

When you run this report, look at the top left of the report and click "export report". Then choose how and where you want to export it to. We export to microsoft excel(data only) and save to desktop. Then I import to wherever I need.

I am Shantilly's worse half, they just tried it in salon now and it took several seconds for the test email to send...prob between 5 to 10 seconds
