like i said....ignorant and paranoid!

99% of salon owners are not able to properly maintain their data. You dont have to let Helios host your data with v12 but you would be stupid not to!

Here is why you dont want to host your own data!

1) the greatest risk to your data is YOU! If you dont back up properly and DAILY then you run the high risk of losing your data! Most of you DONT backup at all!

2) Your employees have more opportunity to steal your data and to SELL your data then any other company hosting your data! If you have an employee still your data what is your recourse???? ZERO! You can sue a real hosting company if an employee at Helios or any other hosting company stole your data!

3) Worry about running your salon NOT your computer! They do the backups, the security and the updates!

4) You can have your PC stolen OR hacked much easier if your in charge!

You need to think out of the box and NOT be paranoid! Salesforce.com has over 500,000 real companies using their hosting software and quickbooks has a zillion peope using their online software!

I run my v12 hosted as well as my accounting software!

^ none of which applies to me. i'm a level 3 tech support person. it's my business and my investment... i'll be the one worrying about it. ;)

then you understand that the people out here should go hosted! :) Dont give them advice thats ok for you and BAD for them!

I'll keep giving them advice right here. ;) I do advise them to get monthly support. I don't advise them to move to centrix yet. I would need to know details instead of someone running around the boards saying get centrix when it comes out with no real substance to the posts. I look forward to finding out more.

i am advocating v12 over centrix.....i will gladly answer any substantive questions you have! v12 is the only enterprise solution on the market today! Anytime a "mom or pop" or an SMB for that matter can get an enterprise solution so cheap they should get it!

Ask away!

ps-v12 is not ready for prime time but people need to jump when it is!!!!

Then you need to ask more questions cus you sure dont understand the obvious advantages plus none of them use v12! So do as you wish! But if you want to have a serious debate on anything i stand ready to speak openly and factually without any agenda other then to get our industry more sophisticated!

How would these be obvious advantages if the software hasn't been released to the public yet?

i never said scott kathy and john know nothing about v12....i said they dont use it! I did design a lot of it.....if you look back v12 has the same look and feel as version 1-11!!!
i wrote the first 6 versions just as an FYI....

The advantages are obvious to me and anyone that takes an open minded look at it!
