Unhappy Anti virus removed reports in Helios 11.4

I installed AVG free edition on my computer and after finding a ton of viruses on my computer, my Helios 11.4 will not run reports at all. It says it's not found and gives an error 63 message. I'm not sure what to do now. I cancelled my tech support because I never used it in the 10 years of paying for it. Figures now I need it! Can anyone help?

try to re-install Helios

BACK UP DATA folder first!!! in a different location, than the Helios folder.

Re: Anti virus removed reports in Helios 11.4

I would backup Helios Data folder (if you have new client info added since the problem) to an external drive, thumb drive, CD or floppy. You can then restore your computer to the day before.
If the problem with this is still that you have a virus I would try using AVAST instead and see if that works. If you use Avast make sure you set it to do a BOOT scan as well.

Unfortunately AVG Free edition won't give you tech support it's not designed for business use.

If you don't have system restore turned on you'll probably need to run a repair install for Helios.

Re: Anti virus removed reports in Helios 11.4

I'm a little confused Tanu01. Should I reinstall Helios then clean the files? I'm half afraid to do anything because I am not very computer literate and don't want to lose all my information. I'm going to do this after closing tonight in fear of doing during the day while open.

Re: Anti virus removed reports in Helios 11.4

Dont un-install your program ! There's nothing wrong with it. I had back office crash at 4 stores, Basically what it is a build up of useless files. Everytime you look at a report, it gets saved as a temp file and eventually back office gets over loaded and wont perform.

A simple cleaning out of all the files will have up and running like new. No loss data.

You can clean out your temp files right now......they are just that, temporary files you don't need them.

Re: Anti virus removed reports in Helios 11.4

It didn't work.........I cleaned out my temp files and tried to run report again. When I click on reports it throws a code saying File not found number 53......then it sticks on the screen and can't get it off..........have to run task manager to close helios then restart it. I didn't reinstall helios or anything, just cleaned the temp files.
