So you do a voice authorization and then what? Do you run those charge accounts once your terminal is back up or does that authorization code mean that the funds auto post to your account with that day's batch?

ok lets get this straight. are you people with outages using helios/chase and swiping thru the computer or are you using a credit card terminal........or does it not make a difference.

I have a magtek swipe that I got from Helios.

magtek swipe from helios - but anything thru internet will give a problem.

How hard is it to have a sep CC machine to run your transactions? I would never and I mean NEVER have my CC trans going over the internet!

As it is, I run two different computers, one for the Helios, and the other for the internet. I just don't trust my database info and CC transactions flying through cyber space. But thats just me.

ATTENTION ANYONE THINKING OF GETTING STARTED WITH HELIOS:

Do not do it! They are a horrible company and you will have many problems. You will have problems that you don't even know about. Whatever the case, you will LOSE TONS OF MONEY by choosing Helios. There are lots of alternatives so find another program that you like and go with that. I used Helios for about 5 years and it was the WORST decision I have made in my 8 years in the business (and I own a Leg Tanner!).

ATTENTION ANYONE CURRENTLY USING HELIOS:

It's not as hard as you think to switch to another software. I was running 4 salons on Helios WAN, and made the conversion over to Sunlync this past December which is a true real-time multi-salon platform. There were some minor issues, but overall it is a million times better than Helios. No comparison.

I feel so bad for anyone who has purchased hardware from helios (ie. cc readers, thumbprints, computers, etc) because they totally rip you off and add on all types of fees that are ridiculous. I truly believe the only reason they are still in business is because there are just too many salon owners that don't realize what a scam Helios is.
