Helios

Can Helios be running when you do a backup? What is the best way to do a backup?

Re: Helios

Yep, it can be running. Open the Helios folder and right click on the folder called Data. Select Send To and then select the location where you want to store your back up.

I use a thumb drive and keep the back up in a fireproof safe.

Re: Helios

I don't think it can. I have 3 computer running Helios and I get an incomplete backup if any of them are logged in.

Re: Helios

I have an automatic backup every night that copies to the unused space on my website.....and as far as I know, Helios needs to be closed out.

Re: Helios

Ah, I stand corrected. Thanks for the info.

Derf, how do you know if you get an incomplete back up? Does it tell you or do you have a verification process to ensure you've got a complete back up?

Re: Helios

also you should always have 2 backups for helios. with each new backup it should be separate from the backup you already have. the reason is suppose your current version is corrupted and you backup over a good version.

Re: Helios

i use windows backup and label the backup by the date. Aug 21-07 was my last backup....etc...this way you don't overwrite any other previous backup incase you do have corrupt database and trace it back to 3 days ago.

these are great also like they said above for storage....i have an 8gig with me on my keys at all times....great to work on marketing stuff from any computer, laptop, home, work etc...as well as backups.
