bought out tanning salon, shuttin them down

Okay,

So I bought out a salon 5 minutes down the road from me.

They had helios, but the computers hard drive went two weeks ago. (another reason they were highly motivated, theft, bulbs dead, ran out of money, location sucks) They had a recent back up from about 3 weeks ago. They were using helios 9, we are using helios 11. They backed up all the info in the "data" folder and another database file called smail.mdb. Guessing thats the smart mail feature, Ive never used it.

I am wondering if theres any way to restore this into helios 11. Even if it means overwriting what I have currently. I can back mine up and restore this. But I need to get a copy of this client list ASAP to let them know their salon is shutting down and they can now come tanning @ my location. And that all their pre authorized payments are going through my payment processing company now and that their minutes are honored here.... etc.

If someone could help me ASAP I would LOOOOVE that.

so the clients were sold with it? I guess I never thought about that... so what if they don't want to go to your salon, do they then forfeit there packages?

No different than if Rogers buys out Bell, they own their telephone contracts, if they decide they dont want to go to the Rogers store to do phone business, tough luck. Because their contracts were sold to the other company.

according to my corp lawyer, unless that is stated in the original contract, the customer can get out of a sold contract....fine print

no you can not directly use V9 files in V11

BUT you can point the V11 Conversion utility at the directory location of V9 data and convert it into V11

CAUTION ... it will convert into the current Data directory of V11 ... so make sure you have your currect data well protected ... or better yet do the convert on another system with V11 installed ... you will not be able to sell anything without a hardware key on that other system, but you will be able to convert, look and report.
