Now i at least have some insight as to what causes this error...so maybe i can avoid it.

My advice....ditch Helios. The version you are on was their best version. Anything after 9.4 sucks. Believe me I know. I am on 11.3.37 and getting ready for the big switch to another software. Can't stand the aweful tech support anymore. Do yourself and your business a favor, look at other software companies. There are other options besides Helios.

I've had Helios since day one. 2 minor issues in over 2 yrs. I'm also using 11.3.37. I'd like to see it compatible with Vista however. :)

Vista is just terrible.

The only real reason to want the support is because all new computers have it.

Applehat - I think you can order new computers with Win XP Pro on them. Why don't you just go that route instead?

The number one reason you need to get with the program and support it. You may not like it but until you can come out with something that can compete with it you are in a followers position..... I don't have the option to sit back and wait. If I have a customer that needs support in Vista I need to be prepared. :)

So far outside of Helios (which I haven't attempted) and Microsoft Digital Image Pro 10 everything is running smoothly with Vista here. I run a ton of programs. Unfortunately Digital Image Pro has one of the best reviews of Microsoft products and they have discontinued it and all support as of 2010. Gimp is looking better every day!

Unless you are forced to don't go backwards, there will be patches and service packs. :)

Microsoft product being compatible with Vista ... not to surprising.

Helios V11 being compatible with Vista ... I would not hold my breathe. With their focus on Centrix I doubt we will see much happen to V11 ... unfortunate but likely.

Helios V11.3.37 ... assuming you are on support, you may at least wish to upgrade to the lastest V11.5.5 ... many issue corrected between those releases (V11.3.37 is about 3 years old)
