Re: smartmail

Sometimes the Helios email client works .... sometimes it does not ... Helios had an update that worked more often, but not for me.

One that knows at Helios suggested I download EZBatch ... an email client and that is what I use ... works 100%

I export from Helios Back Office to an excel file ... import into a Access Database which EZBatch can import ... you could use SMart to create the Access Database perhaps ... personally I gave up on SmartMail some time ago ... I just avoid it ... perhaps it works better now for exporting ... not something I am prepared to waste my time on. .... Back Office > Excel > Access > EZBatch .... we send about 10,000 emails a month

Re: smartmail

I'm a little fuzzy on the new site so I could not post a new topic. Hope you don't mind me asking a question different from the topic.
Andy, I see we are still picking your brain, thanks for letting us do that.
My question is about vs 11.
I want to restore vs 11 from my last backup file because of deleted database, how do I do that using windows xp, Version 9 had a utility area that did that for me unfortunately I don't have that option in 11

Re: smartmail

Right ... with V11 you need to create your own Backup and Restore procedure ... using whatever method you wish.

A straight copy to another drive or device of the Data directory

or use MS Backup utility
or use 3rd party backup software

Having done a backup ... you would restore from that source.

So you are asking how to restore from your last backup file ... how was that backup done

Re: smartmail

So just tansfering the data that's backed up from a previous date to the vs11 data folder will get me going?

Re: smartmail

depending on how the backup was created ... if it was a copy of the data directory to another place ... then yes ... but of course your data will regress to that date.
