Rep Power: 103 | Re: Wireless Routers And the wizard doesn't ask you for a MAC address? You should have to open your browser, go to http://192.168.0.1 That takes you to the setup. You log in as admin and leave the password blank. Click wizard. It should try to detect the type of connection you have. Takes you to a screen that is determined by which type connection you have. If you have typical cable connection, it is a dynamic connection. If it is dynamic, it should give you the option to enter the MAC address. You probably have the option to just hit "clone MAC address" If it is a static address, your ISP should have given you the address. If this isn't happening, you are going to have to bypass the wizard. That means quality time with you ISP tech support team.

Rep Power: 30 | Re: Wireless Routers On one of the news shows the other night they were talking about all the new technology and how most of it is not very consumer friendly. I believe it was a Staples rep who said that about 60% of all routers and wireless gear sold gets returned because the consumer can not make it work. Can you imagine selling a product that has a return rate that high? |
