I need help with my electrical. Every time I have more than 4 beds on at a time my breaker trips. I have to find the manager (which sometimes takes hours) so that he can unlock the utility closet and re-set the breaker. All of this, obviously, while customers are here. I have had a couple of electricians look at it and they suggest that I install another electrical meter and panel. There is no more space for another electrical meter. I already have 2. There are salons with 20 beds in strip malls, there has to be a way to get the power I need without installing more meters. Buck boosters? Transformers? I am so lost! Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Re: How do you get enough electricity?
buck boosters will use more power. u need to find out how many amps your panel is. its the size of the main breaker. you cant go over that. sounds to me like you have a very small panel like 100 amps or 200.
get some electricians out there. PS YOU NOT HAVING ACCESS TO YOUR BREAKER BOX IS NOT SAFE AND UNHEARD OF IF YOU EVER HAD A REAL ELECTRICAL ISSUE WITH A BED YOU CANT EVEN CUT THE POWER .........VERY DANGEROUS

Re: How do you get enough electricity?
having your services amperage upgraded is extremely pricey
but if you do you might as well step it up to three phase if optional and not already done, for reasons of future expansion |

Re: How do you get enough electricity?
The electric company is going to upgrade both of my meters, and my electrician is going to put in bigger sub-panels... Hopefully this will solve all of my problems. Thank you for all of your suggestions.

Re: How do you get enough electricity?
You have to see if you have 3 phase or single phase. Usually commercial is 3 phase. If it's not the main breaker that trips have an electrician check how many amps are going through each wire. (with an amp meter) You may have too many amps going through one phase, which could be corrected by unloading the amperage equally. If you have single phase.....hard luck..
Good luck |
