Rep Power: 25 | Re: do you have to use chase now? if you are using Helios V11 and wish to utilize the Helios integrated processing, then you have to use CHASE for either or both of Point of Sale transactions and/or EFT processing. The seamless aspect of the integrated processing is EXCELLENT and works extremely well, however it comes at a price. Do not be mislead by the quoted rates from CHASE, those rates are for MERIT 1 transactions ... of which the total transaction count for such is ZERO ... every single EFT transaction we process attracts a surcharge. Regardless ... again ... the process is excellent but at a price. |

Rep Power: 21 | Re: do you have to use chase now? Hey Andy, I know you've said that you can't use any other merchant services, but another salon owner said she was told by someone at Helios that you could. Has this changed? Thanks, Joseph |

Rep Power: 22 | Re: do you have to use chase now? They will not allow it, even though it is against my state's laws. Its illegal to bind transaction services. Regardless, its really is a smooth and easy setup. Call Beccy (extension 3703). She was the BEST REP I have EVER dealt with. Tell her Shawn referred you :) There will be the chase rate and then Helios takes their cut of 5 cents per transaction. So whatever Chase quotes you for per-transaction, add 5 cents to that. THAT is the reason Helios will not let you use another merchant, they want there 5 cents. By the way, its easy to modify Helios to work with pretty much any credit card processor. But even with the 5 cent Helios "tax", the per-transaction fee was much less than we were paying. What Helios can not to is load Gift Cards, something that should be out in version 12. But Helios 11 may be able to unload them fine. |

Rep Power: 22 | Re: do you have to use chase now? Ya, they do.. hence the reason I am shopping around for a new POS system. But we do have a sign up "All credit cards are now charged a 5 cent processing fee by Helios, our salon management software". |

Rep Power: 0 | Re: do you have to use chase now? To helios users - You do NOT have to process your EFT's through Chase if you have Helios. In fact, I have a customer who currently uses Helios to process his EFT's. Historically, they would mail us their authorization forms for their EFT on a monthly basis because they did not want to use Chase to process their EFT's. Furthermore, Chase would only be able to process credit card transactions, and they wanted to process ACH transactions because its cheaper. After Helios released their new version, which took off the encryption to process through Chase, my customer is now sending us files via Helios. This customer is not using Chase to process their EFTs. |

Rep Power: 25 | Re: do you have to use chase now? sure you can send a file for external processing (with a little Access knowledge) ... but I doubt that is integrated regarding rejects and writing the appropriate transactions into the Helios database for either single store or Helios WAN ... if it is, I stand to be corrected. |
