Flashing lamps!!
I just finished installing a 'used' bed and I have multiple lamps flashing on and off!! I've never seen anything like this before. The lamp will ignite, light up momentairly, and then go off only to repeat this process again and again. It's happening on several lamps in the bench and canopy.
The lamps are brand new, but the bed has been in a warehouse for an unknown lenght of time. Any ideas???? |

Re: Flashing lamps!!
also if ur using heraus lamps with electronic starters, you will have to use phillips starters to get them to ignite first and then go back and install the electronic ones... pain!

Re: Flashing lamps!!
I have a question about starters. I'm ready for my second lamp change in my beds. All lamps are igniting properly now, so should I still change my starters? Should I go with electronic starters? Thanks

Re: Flashing lamps!!
parrot head, If the bed is 160W+ I would definitely use the Electronic Starters. They work great & get less end blackening plus they last a very long time.
For 100W beds you could use the Electronic starters or just stick to the S12. The S12's are good for 6000 starts or about every other lamp change on a 100W unit. The S12 is only rated for up to 140W, so if you use them in a 160W unit, which most units come this way, they will need to be changed more frequently. One problem with electronic starters is that they sometimes don't work well with Philips, Voltarc & some Heraeus lamps. No problems with LSI, Cosmedico or Wolff at all. If you don't want to pony up the extra $1 for an electronic starter the Philips Cleo Power is also a great replacement for higher wattage lamps 160W+. |

Re: Flashing lamps!!
Thanks John! I'm going to get LSI lamps from URI and I'm going to get electronic starters for all my beds which include 100w, 120w, 140w, and 160w. Thanks again
