Question Helios and Drivers License Reader

Andy I think I asked you this at one of the shows last year so don't look :) Does anyone know if there is a reader/scanner that will read Driver License info into the clients profile in helios? I beleive that on a very early version of helios it could be done but that they have since done away with that option. If anyone knows anything about it or is somehow doing it I would love to hear more. This would be an extremely helpful tool not only in busy season but would also help eliminate some of the problems with new clients that are under 18.

Re: Helios and Drivers License Reader

Helios maintain that it does ... I have never seen it work.

There is indication in the System Default settings (2nd tab - Mask settings) that it should be able to be configured to work.

I believe the reason I have never seen it work, may be that they never had the right equipment that is required to work.

Stuart at Helios would I believe be the best source of requirement on this point.

Careful that the required equipment does not cause conflict with other devices you many already be using ... ie Magtek card reader

NC does not have a mag stripe on the license. You have to have a 2d or 3D scanner which I believe costs a couple hundred dollars. What exactly did you get for $59?
