Installing Helios

I am going to be installing Helios on a new computer. Right. Now Helios' min. system requirments for it to run include Windows 2000 Professional or Windows XP Preofessional. Do I have to run either one of these or will I be fine with Windows XP Home Edition? I am now going to be running any of their hardware with the system. Well just the barcode scanner. The computer is brand new, so it is clean per say of junk on it. What are all of you running your system on Home, Pro, Office??????
Thanks in advance for your input!!

Re: Installing Helios

The Software Maintenance Agreement calls for XP Pro or 2000.

There are issues with the Home edition that cause some inconsistent problems for some users while others experience no problem running Helios with the Home edition.

In most cases when a problem presents itself, Helios Tech Support will require you to upgrade to Pro from the Home edition before assisting you.

Many of the issues related to problems with the Home edition related to communication protocols ... therefore Internet, Networking and Timer issues.

Re: Installing Helios

This website gives a pretty good account of the differences in xp home and pro.

The main problems I see are networking and security.
