Need help with Helios

My salon was broke into and they stole my computer. Which in itself is not bad I have my back ups. I use Helios version 9. The problem is that with the computer they stole the Dongle that goes on the back so I am unable to hook up my backup computer. I dropped the support for Helios about 2.5 years ago well now when I call Helios to order another dongle they want to charge me 900 dollars.

Does anyone have any ideas? I am looking at new software but I want to make sure I can load my data from Helios into it so I do not loose my customers.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Re: Need help with Helios

The dongles I belive are about 899 dollars if your operating anything over I think it is 25 clients your going to need the dongle. But I don't think you need the dongle to access your data folder you just need to operate Helios.

Will your insurance cover the cost of replacing the dongle?

as tnannie stated ... the replacement cost of the dongle should be covered by your insurance.

Re: Need help with Helios

well that would be your choice.

But it is an asset that was stolen, along with the computer and anything else.

Then adding in damage from breakin and recovery of data ... if that is over your deductible ... or you do not wish to claim, that would be your decision.

Check with your agent, but I would be surprised if one claim of this nature would impact your rates very much if at all.

Drawers full of then John ... your kidding of course ... had two for my demo system for V11 not V9 (POS and WAN) returned both to Helios at the beginning of this year.
