Software - Does it exist?

Went to Germany last year, and fell in love with this salon that had 9 beds, no attendants on duty and the system let you pay in cash, or buy tokens, or have a tanning card with value on it.

didn't write down the name of the software system.

since my state requires an attendant on duty, i am wondering if you guys know of any software that could add value to, and deduct value from a client tanning card and the client tans themselves.

any assistance helpful.

I know of hardware that attaches to the bed that takes cash-no software needed.

Operator And Employee Training

Currently, Ohio rules define a qualified operator as anyone at least 18 years old designated by the permit holder for the facility to assist and instruct the public in the correct operation of the tanning facility. Some areas of responsibility for the operator are sanitation, determining a tanning schedule, safety instructions and eyewear use.
Proposed rules for a qualified operator will be defined as someone who possesses a valid and current certificate of formal training. Committee members are favoring a requirement that at least one or two people have formal training and they would in turn be responsible for training the remaining staff.
Committee members realize that course availability, minimum wage staff, employee turnover and rural business locations will create challenges in complying with this proposed rule. Because of this, committee members are considering allowing correspondence courses in addition to formal classroom training. Each training option will be required to gain state approval prior to offering certification within Ohio.

Re: Software - Does it exist?

First off it's a horriable idea. This is done in Europe in some places but the culture is different also. Second off Ohio is a regulated state and defines an operator as a person being on duty not a machine so you must have a trained staff member present. Third selling is done by humans lotions, memberships and packages get sold via customer contact not by ROBO-VEND.

Wouldn't that be a gift card? Oh wait, tans themselves? If you have someone there, what's the point?

Re: Software - Does it exist?

In Munich, when I was there, there were lines out the door for people waiting. Attendant was there, but all she did was answer questions, and help a few customers with the beds, and clean them. Since, my experience has been that no matter how much I train, this is exactly the activity most young people today expect to be doing, so why pay more for less work. get them basic certified, and let the customers tan how they want to tan.

Re: Software - Does it exist?

What would stop you from tanning more than 1 time in a day? As long as you kept feeding the machine money who would know how many times you went. But than again it's your business.
