bottom half bulbs not working
hi, I have a Wolff Sunvision 24S that I just moved into my house. The bottom half of the bulbs are not working. I took a working bulb and replaced the ones that would not light up and it didn't work either. I'm not sure what to do next??? Any ideas?? Please help! I'm going to be striped.

Re: bottom half bulbs not working
dmgdeanna,
First check the cord going from the canopy (top of bed) that plugs into the bottom of the bed. This usually is hard to get in all the way. If that is plug in all the way then you have a different issue. A wire may be off the contactor not providing the correct voltage to the bench. This is a 220 volt unit correct? Let me know and I will help you. |

Re: bottom half bulbs not working
Yes it is a 220 volt unit... half the bulbs in the bottom work so I'm thinking that the cord must be connected right??? The bed was moved and it worked before I moved it so I'm wondering if the move did something?? I will check wires and make sure everything is connected and get back to you. .. Thank you so much!!! I need a tan, bad =)

Re: bottom half bulbs not working
Oh, if half the lamps in the bottom work then you have a different issue. Sandgirl is right most likely on this. These units have 100watt choke ballast in them and the wires on the ballast are jumped for the power. Most Likely you have a wire that has come loose that is providing the power to the other ballast or you have a ballast that has burnt up eliminating that particular ballast to send power over to the rest. You may have a wire off one of the lampholders also causing the same thing. This unit is tuff to get to the ballast and I believe the lampholders. Sometimes, you can pull down on the plastic bottom just fare enough to get to the ballast or hopefully the one concerned. It will definately be tight. I would actually take the bed apart, flip over the bench take the legs and plastic bottom off and inspect all the wires. Hopefully everythng works out. Let me know if you need more help.

Re: bottom half bulbs not working
Hi Sarge, thanks for all your help.. I just took the sides off and inspected the wires from the side angle, but I did realize that it's hard to get to the wires so next I will flip it over like you said. How do you know if a ballast is bad and actually what is a ballast??? I inspected the lampholders and the wires and all seems fine. Also how do you know if a fuse is blown??? I did switch the fuses around and still no luck. This really sucks because the bed worked fine until I moved it. So I think something in the move cause something to come loose. I will get back to you as soon as I try to flip it and look at the wires that way. It doesn't seem electrically like its complicated at all.. but just very difficult to get to wires and such. Thank everyone for you help!!!!
